The unwritten laws of success

A sleek booklet full of wisdom, The Unwritten Laws of Engineering is among the nicest readings I was suggested in the past year. I suggested it myself in return, to an important and cultured person, a business literate, who felt offended by the fact I shared this piece of knowledge with him. It is nevertheless a useful and entertaining, if not humbling, reading, aimed at showing how the lack of certain non-technical skills may hinder the achievement of fruitful business collaborations. Quite befitting, considering I was rejecting his promising job offer on the basis of what I considered an unprofessional conduct.
It is remarkable how little we trust those whom we consider inferior. On the other hand, the risk of feeling contemptuous when exposed to some act of obvious iniquity is high. After some initial disconcert, I will follow the modern trend, resorting to the use of little startled faces o_O
